Sri Guru Paduka Stotram is a set of nine stanzas that revere the greatness of the Padukas of a Guru. Each stanza in the Guru Paduka Stotram lyrics explains how the holy feet of a teacher can guide oneself to overcome obstacles and act as a boat to help you cross the endless ocean of life.
The word Gurupaduka is a combination of two words: Guru, referring to the teacher, and Paduka, which means the Sandals the holy Guru wears.
Composed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya in Sanskrit, This is considered one of the ancient Stotrams eulogizing the greatness of holy teachers and their divine blessings for the seekers.
In Hinduism, the Padukas have immense importance. They were not just seen as holy items but considered as the sacred feet of the Guru itself that can guide a devotee to the righteous life.
